Not up front about fees and service

I don’t want to be that negative person but I have to say I am very dissatisfied with OMNI. I was told when I started with them that if I was not satisfied with their services I would get a full refund. Well when I started with them I already had a payment plan set up with both my state and federal taxes. I asked Omni if they could reduce my penalties and fees since they were in place. They told me it would not be an issue and they all but guaranteed as this was their specialty. I have to admit they stayed in constant communication with me and to all they were doing with my case…but…..when I told them there was no need to do discovery they said it wasn’t an issue and it was part of the process. Once all was said and done I received an itemized bill from them stating they had spent all the money I’d given them on the discovery of payments plans that were already in place and they would need more money if I wanted them to do an abatement on the penalities and fees and that would be another $1500. I gave them a call and it just so happened the person I was working with quit that same week and I was transferred to someone else who wasn’t familiar with my case. She basically explained to me the cost would be the same whether I had plans in place or not and the abatement is extra. I explained to her that’s not what I was told….because why would I pay someone to do something I had already done? I wont call them scam artists…they just aren’t very upfront with their fees or schedules. Why would I pay someone to do what I had already done?

A total SCAM

They targeted us with a cold call because our names appeared on a list of people with a tax lien. They promised to help remove the tax lien, conveying to us that it was routine, simple and that our account qualified. On that promise, we agreed to pay them $2,000 as a retainer, although they explained and we believed that there would be no way such a simple request would actually cost that much. After not one but two attempts they were rejected both times and by the end of the second lien withdrawal request, they claimed the account had exceeded it's $2,000 deposit because they had contacted the IRS to discuss other matters that we never requested them to do. The photos have my personal information on them and I'm not sharing that on this site, just trying to pass it along. I will be filing a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and be consulting with counsel. My representatives' name was Ashley Vandivier. Total scam. Stay away at all cost.

I'm glad you're not my financial advisor.

The only way to get rid of a tax lien is to PAY IT.

You deserved to get soaked for being gullible (cold call ?) and foolish.

Why did you not apply the funds to the tax lien ?

Before liens are applied you have ample time to state your case if in dispute.

After one is imposed it sticks to you like stink on excrement even after it's paid. Will be reported to all credit agencies and lower your score.

Virtually none of your assumptions are accurate and even the factual assertions aren't applicable.

Are you a troll for Omni?

Your second sentence is WRONG. You can enter into a payment plan, which we had, and were paying well ahead of schedule, and OMNI notified us that we were in compliance with all proper rules/regs for withdrawal.

They were wrong about certain details regarding how they wrote it up but it wasn't because a tax lien must be fully paid before it's withdrawn.

It will be withdrawn, just not by OMNI. Good talk.
